Following a busy weekend we are now back at the studio dealing with enquiries for the last available wedding dates for this summer.

The portrait season has already started and it was really nice seeing Mrs Mitchell yesterday with the new addition to her group of grandchildren. The makeovers are on offer at the moment (including a free eyelash and eyebrow tint) and we now have a Valentine’s Day offer including a free framed 8×6″ photograph.

Also, Jo has designed a limited edition of beautiful Valentine’s Day Cards.  Whilst Mona and Pat will be updating their window displays in the coming week.

Camelia has been on a framing course  today and we are looking to complete your framed photos to an even higher standard by moving the operation in house.

Just a reminder that the Maldon views are on offer until the 31st January, don’t forget to visit our studio if you would like to purchase one at the offer price.   Some of the views are now available in a larger size and could be purchased both in colour or black and white.

With a new wedding season ahead we are now taking bookings and filling up the popular weekend dates, also completing the last albums from 2011 and have started the pre-wedding portrait sessions and planning meetings.

Georgie and Mark are our first wedding this year and it was really nice meeting with them yesterday and discussing their wedding plans and ideas. Having photographed her dad’s second marriadge 10 years ago and subsequently her eldest and youngest sister we are really happy she chose us to photograph her wedding.  She will look fantastic!  So watch this space to see her wedding photos shortly…

Our albums are our pride and joy, and in this day and age when not all couples choose to have an album any longer, it is to our delight that most of our customers still benefit from our in-house designs and willingness to exceed their expectation from start to finish and produce a finished product to bring back happy memories for their wedding day for many years to come.   I remember one of our older customers telling us that they wished they had a professional photographer and album to look back on.   At their silver anniversary they had one of their few photos enlarged as a memory from their most important day.

Our studio is very busy at the moment too.  Since moving to larger premises the November before last, we have been enjoying the benefits for creativity and variety of the work we can undertake by having more space.  From newborn babies and pets to larger family groups and musicians the studio can be set and lit to create some memorable photographs

We would like to thank all our customers for their kind recommendations, you will know who you are as I would not like to miss anyone out. In this very competitive market it is really rewarding to see that our hard work and dedications doesn’t go unnoticed.

As the last weekends are booking up fast we would like to make a special offer for weekday weddings.  Half term and school holidays seem to go first but we still have a few dates available.  If you would like to discuss your requirements and ideas just call.  We are at the studio most weekends, Saturdays and Sundays, providing we are not photographing a wedding.

Having sold the last Maldon calendar on Christmas Eve we would like to say a big thank you for your valuable comments and we will look at producing more next year to avoid disappointment – sorry to anyone who did not get the chance to purchase his/hers before Christmas!

Our Maldon Scenes are now on sale until the end of January, going fast, and we must say how nice it is to see how proud Maldon residents are of their town and how much visitors like our town.  Though we have only been in Maldon for 13 years and 9 at our High Street studio we feel just as proud of our beautiful town as anyone else.

Having enjoyed a nice Christmas and New Year break we will be back at the studio on a  full time basis shortly, but in the meantime we have taken the decorations down and prepared to offer our advice and services to our customers for another year.

We would like to wish all our customers a very Happy New Year!

After a nice break we will be back at the studio from the 14th January full time but we are available by appointment before then.

Following a busy year last year we are taking a couple of weeks off to spend time with our son and dog.  Before our son arrived more than 6 years ago, we used to photograph throughout the Christmas holidays but with the wedding season being busy all year round we have decided Christmas must be family time and apart from filling in for other photographers when they are unwell, we are completely chilling out.

For the coming year we are looking forward to photographing more weddings and portraits – we already have a few babies of our past brides booked in.   This is a magic and wonderful experience, photographing a new born baby, they grow so quickly and capturing the essence of  a  young baby never ceases to move me…

As usual, new year offers us the oportunity to offer our customers new services.  The Maldon Scenes are on sale this month and with the New Year a new season of makeovers will start – and some boudoir portraits.

We also have several new products which have proved very popular before Christmas.  The glass art by Mona, natural stones jewellery by Pat and custom made cards by Jo have been added to broaden our range.

Keeping busy in the run up to Christmas involves completing all the wedding albums and portraits photographed recently.  It has been really nice seeing some of our old customers coming back for an up to date photograph or to purchase a Portrait Voucher for friends and family. 

Louise and Greg got married at Crabbs Barn and it brought back memories of the last time we photographed them, it must have been 4-5 years ago, and the little additions to the family where all keeping busy running around and having lots of fun.  Louise looked every bit the blushing bride and it was an absolute pleasure being part of their day and making a contribution the their memories. 

Having just photographed our last wedding before Christmas we are now looking forward to planning the next wedding season and enjoying our time off.

With Christmas just around the corner the studio has been very busy recently.  It has been really nice seeing some of our old customers and also meeting new ones.  Mrs Meakin brought in her grandaughter to have a photo taken to hang next to her other grandson’s photo who we photographed 8 years ago.

Grace and Elliott had their yearly photos taken, Grace brought a huge teddy in and Elliott had lots of fun on the see-saw chair.  Always a pleasure photographing them and keeping their family photos up-to-date.  We find that with our larger studio we can now accommodate bigger groups and there is nothing a grandparent likes for Christmas or birthday present more than a recent photo of the family.  Children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters can all be captured in one photograph or smaller groups.  Sarah and Matt together with their partners has a “Friends”  style photo taken last week.   

Babies and children are beautiful at any age, from new born baby photos to little toddlers and teenagers all have their charm.   We have experience with different age groups and with our relaxed studio athmosphere we aim to create photos capturing memories you can treasure forever.
