Creative studio portrait photography. . .

It was a refreshing change to be able to use some different portrait techniques to create something out of the ordinary at the studio recently.

Weekends are our busiest time and we made the decision to open the studio on a Sunday and close on Monday some time ago as we enjoy keeping busy. As usual, we would like to say a big thank you to a few of our previous customers for their kind recommendations, and in particular thank you to Marina and Matt for recomending us to your sister and her partner. Alex and Neal came to our studio with gorgeous little Lulu, who also had a new passport photo taken and is now ready to go on holiday.

Also it was really nice to seeing Michelle and Martin, who got married at Leez Priory the previous week. They have collected the preview book and have decided on the album of their choice.
Photographing large family groups is also lots of fun, but sometime challenging when a few under 2’s are part of the group. Mr and Mrs Poston have returned and we photographed four generations of their family. Little cousins Genevive and Amelia were both wearing green and matched great-grandma.
Hayley was looking for modern style photos of her three children and it was my pleasure to photograph them and have fun with a pop band pose.

As spring approaches we seem to become more busy with portraits and makovers. It was a real pleasure photographing Rachel, the day before her 21st birthday, she was positively glowing. She brought a few different outfits, but I think my favourite photos were in her prom dress.

It was a pleasure photographing Julia and Chris yesterday and at last some springlike weather arrived! Having planned the photography in detail beforehand it was great having the better weather on our side to allow us to capture the beauty and the setting of the venue.
We look forward to seeing the happy couple when they return from their honeymoon and collect their preview book to decide on the final choice of their wedding photos and album.

Despite a flurry of snow during the day, a great time was had by all at Maria and Ben’s wedding at Leez Priory last Friday.

Maria and Ben were married at Leez Priory yesterday, and livened up the proceedings in the evening with a fantastic fireworks display - there is a certain photographic technique required to get decent photos of fireworks . . . . don’t use flash as it has no effect at all (unless you want to light up your foreground) and you’ll need a longish exposure of anything between a second and five seconds, and that means the camera must be on a tripod or some other support that will not move during the exposure.

We look forward to attending a lot of weddings at both Leez Priory and Gosfield Hall this year as they have added us to their recommended list of wedding photographers. We are also on the recommended list at Vaulty manor, Boreham House and Mangapps Manor.

Mr and Mrs Mayne have taken us up on our “Cherubs” offer (Three photo sessions with a free photo from each for a mere £25.00) and brought little Ruth in for another session, she is feeling quite at home now!
